Daren S. O'Connell

Daren Scott O'Connell is an associate attorney in the Corporate & Real Estate section. He concentrates his practice on the defense of title insurance claims, general civil litigation, and representation of property owners and managers of rental property. He has successfully litigated real estate matters throughout Michigan and has won numerous trials.

Mr. O'Connell graduated with honors from the University of Michigan-Flint, with a B.A. in History in 2005, and obtained his J.D. from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 2009. He also has an A.A.S. in Criminal Justice from Oakland Community College. During Mr. O'Connell's scholastic career, he clerked for the City of Flint Attorney's Office and the Hon. Richard D. Kuhn, Jr., of the 51st District Court of Michigan.

As a member of the Michigan State Bar, Mr. O'Connell is also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. He also has a wealth of experience in default services, bankruptcy, and debt collection. Mr. O'Connell is a regular presenter on landlord-tenant law at the Macomb/Oakland Landlord Networking Event for the Macomb Homeless Coalition. He is also a volunteer attorney providing legal assistance to service members through the Service to Soldiers program.
